Position Title:        Social Worker, MSW

Classification:        Part-time

Reports To:             Executive Director

Location:                  Bronx, NY

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Assign cases and intakes to case managers according to client need, worker caseload, and program eligibility.
  • Supervise evaluation, treatment and referrals
  • Assess job performance and complete annual evaluations
  • Maintain and oversee documentation of charts for compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain a complete database which manages demographic data and monitors all cases according to progress notes, treatment plans, case reviews, and terminations, follow up.
  • Meet regularly with Case Managers for clinical supervision
  • Triage and review all new cases for appropriateness to center and/or make appropriate referrals.
  • Schedule regular case conferences, and case reviews.
  • Meet with Executive Director weekly for review of all case management.

Networking Responsibilities

  • Maintain networking and referral sources with other agencies.
  • Demonstrate constructive involvement with professionals in the community.
  • Maintain regular and on-going relationships with community organizations and professionals
  • Represent the agency at various meetings and work on specific projects related to the agencies mission and programs
  • Create new coalitions to work on community issues affecting LGBT Bronx Youth

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Work required with a minimum of two year’s supervisory experience in social services or a health setting.  Knowledge of prevention theory, substance use, at-risk populations, resources, HIV/AIDS related information and issues.  Possess the ability to work independently and multi-task.  Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred, with understanding/experience of culturally diverse needs within various ethnic and socioeconomic groups. Candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal relationship skills.

Position Title
:            Women’s Services Specialist

Classification:            Part-time

The Bronx Community Pride Center (Bronx Pride) is an LGBTQQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning) community center centrally located in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx that provides critical, direct services such as case management, social service referrals, health care information and educational programming. Founded in 1998, Bronx Pride remains the only exclusive LGBTQQ service-oriented agency in the Bronx. Services include a multi-faceted youth program, HIV prevention services, a comprehensive referral database, a transgender support group, as well as recreational, social, educational and outreach activities. The Women’s Services Specialist position is an integral part of Bronx Pride’s ongoing development goals as we continue to serve our community and provide an indispensable service to Bronx residents.  Bronx Pride offers a competitive benefits and vacation packages to all qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeted outreach efforts in the Bronx and other areas where Bronx residents congregate;
  • Recruit lesbian and bisexual women to participate in Bronx Pride events;
  • Run and assist in the facilitation of several groups per month;
  • Coordinate programs and services within the integrated elements of the programs and services the Bronx Pride provides;
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with relevant organizations, and secure formal linkage agreements to address referral and other needs of identified lesbian clientele;
  • Documentation on all groups and individual client load as assigned;
  • Responsible for compliance reporting to meet funding source requirements; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to organizational mission/guiding principles of the LGBTQQ communities;
  • Knowledge of LGBTQQ and POC organizations, resources and issues in the New York City area;
  • Experience in program development and demonstrated experience in community organizing and outreach activities;
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, take initiative, simultaneously manage multiple tasks while maintain attention to detail, and meeting deadlines;
  • Comfort and experience with public speaking and communicating with community members and community leaders;
  • Proficiency in PC-based word processing and internet experience a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and communications skills. Strong conflict management skills;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends;
  • A minimum of a High School diploma with at least two years experience working within a community based organization;
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licenses a plus.

Classification:            Full-time

Responsible for coordinating and maintaining all outreach initiatives including recruitment of participants for programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute outreach activities, agency wide, including registration, materials assembly, staffing, transportation arrangements, off-site supervision of workers, tracking of encounters, and data entry.
  • Recruitment, training, supervision and maintenance of outreach workers/volunteers.
  • Recruitment and maintenance of participants for all Bronx Community Pride Center programs, and activities, through targeted outreach including screening interviews.
  • Administer HIV counseling and testing and provide referrals for HIV and other STIs.
  • The ability to work in, and create a positive team environment as well as to delegate and oversee duties assigned to outreach workers/volunteers.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisory personnel in a cooperative and supportive manner.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with two years outreach/public relations experience in multiple venues.
  • Experience working with a variety of populations including youth and LGBTQQ populations.
  • HIV counseling and testing certification, knowledge and training on HIV, substance abuse, family violence, and LGBTQQ health-related topics.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills needed.
