Committed to Empowering Members of Our Community
Project SPOT includes all of the Bronx Community Pride Center’s Prevention Activities and HIV Services, and coordinates all major outreach initiatives. HIV services include counseling, testing, referrals and partner notification services. Through rapid HIV testing, all youth are given their results and every youth is referred to primary care. Our strong linkages and personal familiarity with the Adolescent AIDS Program at Montefiore Hospital and the South Bronx Health Center for Children and Families makes referrals a very smooth process.

Project SPOT peer educators work to produce outstanding monthly youth parties the last Saturday of each month, with attractive themes, live dance performances, guest DJs and more.
Spot Outreach Workers take to the streets and clubs several times a month to spread the word about the Bronx Community Pride Center programs and teach LGBT people about Safe Partying. Outreach Workers are recruited and trained from the center’s youth programs; individuals recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment to the center. These youth learn valuable information about Safe Partying as well as important job skills such as planning and organization, communication, and how to effectively educate peers.
