temiTemi Aregbesola, MPH, Street Smart Plus Coordinator - Temi holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Science from Penn State University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). Temi was previously a coordinator for medical students’ and pediatrics’ residents at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey. She has also worked as a health educator with the GO GIRL! Program, at Bronx AIDS Services. At BCPC, Temi coordinates the new and exciting Street Smart Plus project. Temi is working to modify a DEBI intervention aimed at youth in the MSM population. Temi is a highly motivated individual who enjoys dedicating her energy to all things youth-related, especially prevention and empowerment within underserved populations.

katieliedermanpic2Katie Liederman, MFA, Youth Services Coordinator
Katie has worked with at-risk youth for almost three years now, with organizations such as Sylvia’s Place and Chicago’s Broadway Youth Center. Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University and an M.F.A. in Nonfiction Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She is currently GO Magazine’s Editor-At-Large, and has written for GO, Curve, Rap-Up, Penthouse Forum, Nerve, V, Looserecord.com, and Velvetpark, and was a resident blogger on Showtime’s Ourchart.com. When not working at the BCPC, Katie can be found spending time with her dog, Louis, and championing the merits of recycling and vegetarianism to anyone who’s willing to listen. It’s annoying.

Chanel “International” Lopez, Health Link Line Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator - Born and Raised in Spanish Harlem, Chanel has been part of the community as an activist and performer since 1997. She has recently been promoted to Volunteer Coordinator and works with the larger community in support of the Center. Her wisdom and broad knowledge of social services and health resources makes her a powerful advisor and advocate for our health link line. She is trained as a peer counselor and an HIV advocate.

Tika Milan, Case Manager

Tika was born and raised in New York City and has been involved in the LGBT community as a writer and activist for 10 years.  He holds a teaching certificate and recently joined the BCPC family as a Case Manager.

Nivea Morales- Director of Finance - With more than 13 years experience as an accountant and bookkeeper, Nivea holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Computer Science and Business Management from Lehman College. She previously held positions in sales and as a manager of an auto mechanic shop, where she learned how to do tune-ups, oil changes and replace brake pads, as well as several other vehicle maintenance procedures. In her leisure time, she enjoys cooking and traveling.

sageriverapic2Samuel Rivera, HIV Prevention Specialist - Sage began as an advocate in the community at the age of 15 as a peer educator. Since then Sage’s dedication to his vision of community empowerment and education has led him to BCPC. Upon graduating the NYDOH and Columbia University’s TEACH program in 2002, Sage has gone on to help create and implement programs in various agencies such as, GMHC, HMI, Mt. Sinai Hospital, and Harlem United. Now, with BCPC, his goal is to help lower HIV prevalence and ignorance in the Bronx and throughout the tri-state area.

jorgeriveropic2Jorge Rivero, Associate Director of Programs
Jorge is an experienced human services professional with an extensive background working with underrepresented populations. He was previously employed in a training capacity for a not-for-profit for more than 15 years. Jorge is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Phoenix. He also enjoys meditating, reading and tending to his farm on Facebook.

mariespiveypic1Marie Spivey, L-Group Coordinator
Marie is currently working toward a Dual Degree Master in Public Administration and Social Work. She is a member of the Executive Council In The Life Ministries in the Bronx, and was the Director of Youth Services and President of Adelphi’s Concerned Tenants Association. She is a longtime community activist and advocate for lesbian families, seniors, and women’s equality rights and empowerment.  Marie served as a member of the Bronx borough president’s Community Advisory Council, Community Planning Board #9 and several other community organizations. She has completed training for work as a Licensed Security Guard, has done work as a communication specialist, as well as work involving party and event planning and promotions.
